ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Sri Vidhyodhaya College of Education has been offering a B. Ed. degree programme since 2015 par excellence in quality. It is run by G. A. Educational and Charitable Trust, a voluntary non-profit organisation (Regd. No. 2012/29). The college is located in a rural set-up at Ellischathiram Road, Thiruppachavaimedu, Kandappakkam Madhura, Kondangi Post, in Villupuram Taluk. Our college is situated south of Tamil Nadu capital, about 140 km, and the west of Villupuram town and Headquarters of the District is about 3km. NCTE (SRC) recognised our college in 2015 and 2022. The college is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Karapakkam, Chennai. The college has been continuously granted the Continuation of Provisional Affiliation from Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University up-to-date.

The college has always been striving to achieve the objectives of the Trust, i.e. The creation of Excellence in Teacher Education and opportunities to study the Teachers Education Programme (B.Ed.) to reach unreached stakeholders. The college is equipped with Hi-Tech classrooms with laboratory infrastructure such as Language Laboratory (both Tamil and English), Psychology Lab, Mathematical Lab, Physical Science Lab, Biological Lab and Social Science lab in a plastic-free and eco-friendly milieu in a rural environment with an innovative approach. The college has a tie-up with the Azhiyaar Arivu Thirukoil, Coimbatore, to increase the students' meditation and memory. Besides, the college has an MoU with CSC Computer Education in Villupuram to improve computer skills, as well as the Spoken English Class, and this helps our students get job placement in schools upon completion of the course. The institution provides a free bus transport facility to the students for their destination and also operates free service from Villupuram New Bus Stand. These opportunities are provided to develop students' talents in the Cultural Arts field like dancing, Painting, and Music. Apart from this, yoga classes are conducted for the students, and this helps them concentrate and do better in exams and life. Training in yoga and meditation develops the memory and mental well-being of the students. Our college has voluntarily adopted many villages to develop 100% literacy with health and hygiene, like Thiruvennainallur, Paiyur, Sethur, Maraingur, Kedar, Ayanthur, Kandampakkam, Thirupachavadimedu and other nearby villages.

As a step towards gender equality, our institution has been offering Co-education since the establishment of the college in 2015. The statutory bodies of the college are the Governing Council, Administrative bodies, Academic bodies and IQAC. The Apex Academic bodies guide and monitor the activities of the Committees, Clubs and Cells through the guidance and counselling of the moral support of the faculties concerned. Administrative bodies in our institution lead the direction of managers, accountants, and supporting staff members to work and achieve the goals of our institution. Sri Vidhyodhaya College of Education provides student teachers many opportunities to utilise academic and life skills. Different Committees function effectively like Governing Body, Staff Selection Committee, Infrastructure Committee, Internal Complaints Committee, Sexual Harassment cell, Minority committee, SC/ST Cell, OBC Committee, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, , Research Cell, Placement and Training Cell, Anti-Ragging Committee, Anti- Ragging Committee, Grievance and Redressal Cell, Guidance and Counselling Cell, Covid Cell, Skill Development Centre, RTI Cell. Enviro Club, Social welfare cell ,Alumni Association and Parent Teachers Association.

Sri Vidhyodhaya College of Education feels proud of our students' academic excellence and all-round development and achievements. Our faculty members are prolific Professors with dedication and commitment to the profession. The college library has many books, journals and magazines on different interdisciplinary subjects. To inculcate the seeds of research in the minds of students and staff members, our college provides many opportunities to attain National Integration. Besides, the Scholarship Support System is being provided to tertiary students on the basis of achievement and to financially needy students from an agricultural background, deprived people, and single parents.

The college encourages our undergraduate student teachers to enroll themselves in Postgraduate education by in any other Institution, our Trust will pay the tuition fees to the needy alumni members. Educational loans are being arranged for needy and eligible students, and we have tie-ups with several banks in and around Villupuram. Our college is devoted to illuminating education, supporting the comprehensive growth of the students, and contributing to their better learning, teaching, and placement. With complete transparency and accountability in academic, financial, administrative and other functions, we maintain our principles to build a legal and democratic rule of law. Administered by the executive committee of G. A. Educational and Charitable Trust, the Chairman is the institution's administrative leader, responsible for administration, appointments and infrastructure. He is also in charge of all financial and administrative planning. Here is a full-fledged, robust, well-integrated system of auditing, which includes the internal check system, internal auditing and external auditing to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk auditing and external auditing to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management and control in financial activities. The Institute has a highly secured IT infrastructure for streamlining the information flow.
